The tourism board promoted the destination’s 30+ ski areas and year-round tourism initiatives including its responsible tourism campaign, ‘Do Colorado Right’, MICHELIN Guide Colorado and recent announcement of the Sundance Film Festival being relocated to Colorado for 2027 and beyond.
Joining the Colorado Tourism Office (CTO) were Visit Telluride, Aspen Snowmass, IKON Pass and Vail Resorts.
During their mission in Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Melbourne and Sydney the delegation engaged with agents, media, ski consumers and trade partners, with dedicated training sessions taking place with ski specialist operators across three states.
CTO exhibited at Melbourne and Sydney Snow Expos with an overarching Colorado area to encompass the state’s exhibiting snow destination partners, offering consumers a taste of Colorado with Coors beer samples at a dedicated bar area, a colouring area for children sponsored by gateway city, Visit Denver, and a chairlift photo opportunity activation.
At Sydney’s iteration of the expo, Sunrise Weekend reported live with weather crosses from the stand. The CTO also showed support to Australia’s travel writers, with sponsored Australian Society of Travel Writers lunches taking place in Sydney and Brisbane.
“Australia continues to be a focus for our international tourism drive, with the state’s expanse of outdoor space and adventure offerings resonating with the Australian consumer year after year,” said Andrea Blankenship, Deputy Director International Tourism, Colorado Tourism Office.
“Since marketing to Australia in 2018 Colorado has risen five places from the 17th to the 12th most visited state by Australians.
“With the unwavering support and enthusiasm we have experienced from the travel trade during this mission we are confident that the expansion of knowledge and bookings from Australia can continue.”
