When it comes to small group adventures for younger travellers – with itineraries that carefully balance community tourism with wallet-friendly prices and authentic experiences – G Adventures is the expert. The 30 new trips recently added to the 18-to-Thirtysomethings collection are no different: every trip has been crafted to align with what this age group craves from travelling, and each one is packed with one-of-a-kind experiences that create that G Adventures magic. The result? Epic, positive-impact adventures that don’t cost the world.

The G Adventures’ 18-to-Thirtysomething travel style is a collection of over 160 transformative trips that are geared towards younger, cost-conscious travellers who crave authentic interactions, social-worthy content and off-the-beaten path destinations, while treading the fine line of feeling independent but also connecting with fellow travellers.

Every trip features an out-of-the-ordinary experience that adds extra wow factor – think a homestay at a traditional hanok in South Korea, meeting the inspirational women behind small businesses in Pakistan or hiking to meet with local shepherds at a remote outpost in Albania.

“For this age group, travelling is all about exploration, discovery and forging new connections in unusual places – they’re seeking experiences that are fresh and fun whilst also being meaningful and insightful,” says Sean Martin, Managing Director Australia, New Zealand and Asia for G Adventures. “Not only are younger travellers travelling more, but they’re also exploring more unique and off-the-beaten-path destinations, which is why we’ve increased trips to lesser-explored destinations such as Pakistan, Albania, Bosnia and Jordan under our 18-to-Thirtysomething travel style.”

True to G Adventures’ commitment to community tourism, every new trip gives travellers the chance to visit organisations, regions and businesses where knowledge-sharing with visitors has a profound positive impact. Plus, as with all G Adventures trips, G Adventures’ Trees for Days initiative means that for each day away, a tree is grown in their name – an essential perk for these climate-conscious travellers.

New 18-to-Thirtysomethings trips from G Adventures include:

Bosnia: Rafting along the Neretva River and spotting wild horses on a jeep safari

Safari in the Balkans? This under-the-radar nation serves up jaw-dropping scenery and experiences most travellers never knew existed – like witnessing dozens of wild horses thundering across empty meadows at sunset or rafting down the crystal-clear Neretva River. Crowd-free cities, waterfall swims and delicious local cuisine – all on a trip with a very reasonable price tag – make this one an instant hit.

The adventure: Bosnia and Herzegovina: Wild Horses & City Sights . From $1699** pp for seven days with departures from 10 May.

Albania: Hiking to a shepherd outpost before a delicious traditional lunch

Not just any walk: this trip includes a hike through herds of sheep and wildflower meadows to a remote shepherd outpost in the Albanian hills. The group will spend a long sun-soaked morning living the authentic Albanian mountain life, before joining the local shepherds for lunch, tucking into a hearty traditional meal of local meats, cheese and freshly baked bread on the farm, all while learning about this way of life. Plus: castle visits, visits to villages in the Albanian Alps and time on Corfu Island, Greece.

The adventure: Tirana to Corfu: Ancient Towns & the Albanian Riviera. From $1699** pp for seven days, with departures from 30 April.

Jordan: Stargazing in the dunes of Wadi Rum before camping in the desert

Remarkable value and remarkable experiences combine on this new adventure in Jordan. This isn’t just a chance to experience the dunes of Wadi Rum, but spend the night there, spotting star constellations and camping in the remote desert – a rare opportunity to truly disconnect and appreciate the earth, stars and solar system. At other points on the trip there’s a backdoor hike to Petra and time to relax by the Red Sea.

The adventure: Uncover Jordan: Deserts, Petra and The Dead Sea. From $1279**pp for seven days, with departures from 30 April.

Pakistan: Meeting inspirational female entrepreneurs

It’s the ultimate under-the-radar destination. Handily, a trip to Pakistan isn’t just affordable, it’s crammed with jaw-dropping scenery, local interactions and mesmerising moments. After a morning trekking the Passu Glacier, the group will spend time at small women-owned businesses, like the Old House, a restaurant run by women supporting their families, and the Korgah Carpet Centre, a local initiative creative by five entrepreneurial local women who aim to empower women in Hunza, improving their livelihoods through skills like traditional carpet weaving. In a 400-year-old Wakhi house, the group will hear the women’s stories while crafting their own woollen cap to bring home. Elsewhere on the trip, there’s time in Khunjerab National Park – keeping eyes peeled for snow leopards, ibex, wolves and golden eagles.

The adventure: Pakistan: Karakoram Highway, Local Eats & Village Life. From $2199**pp for 13 days, with departures from 21 June.

South Korea: Sleeping in a traditional hanok (homestay) and spending time with Jeju island’s 80-year-old women divers

For 18-to-Thirtysomething, living like a local is high on the priority list, and a homestay in a traditional hanok, a historic Korean house, gives an amazing insight into history and culture, all in one cosy overnight slumber. Then there’s time watching the haenyeo – the legendary women divers of Jeju Island, some of whom are over 80 years old – as they dive beneath the water’s surface, holding their breath for three minutes at a time, to collect molluscs and other shellfish. It’s an awe-inspiring spectacle on a trip packed with ‘see it to believe it’ moments.

The adventure: Korea to Japan: Epic Eats & Bright City Lights . From $4879** pp for 15 days, with departures from 17 April.

Greece: Sipping coffee at Shedia Home, hearing how the non-profit cafe provides purpose to those experiencing homelessness in Athens

On a quest to show all sides of a country, this trip takes travellers to Shedia Home, a non-profit cafe in Athens where educational talks are given by the city’s residents who are experiencing homelessness. The group’s visit also means that the organisation’s Invisible Tours, led by a guide experiencing homelessness, gets the extra eyeballs it needs. From here, it’s on to historical sites, sun-dappled beaches and tranquil olive groves in Corfu and Santorini.

The adventure: Corfu to Santorini: Beach Days & Jaw-Dropping Views. From $3849** for 12 days, with departures from 6 May.
