Intrepid Travel has honoured Brett Mitchell with induction into the company’s Hall of Fame, recognising his outstanding contribution to the business over his career.

Established by co-founders Darrell Wade and Geoff Manchester, the Hall of Fame recognises individuals who have played a key role in shaping Intrepid’s performance and direction. In the company’s 37-year history, only 19 team members have received the honour.

Mr Mitchell, Intrepid’s ANZ Managing Director, said he was humbled by the recognition.

“I’m honoured to play a small part in the journey. Thanks to Darrell, Manch and James and all the teams I’ve worked with over the years,” he added.

The induction took place during Intrepid’s annual Global Summit, which brought together more than 400 team members from more than 30 countries at the company’s Melbourne headquarters.

The five-day program covered strategy, culture and purpose, featuring Q&As with tour leaders, updates on The Intrepid Foundation and a CEO Run and Walk fundraiser led by James Thornton.

Mr Thornton, Intrepid Travel CEO, said the Summit reinforced the culture that underpins how the company grows.

“Our Global Summit brought together team members from more than 30 countries and that global diversity is one of our greatest strengths. As we scale, staying connected to our purpose and to each other is critical because it’s our people who bring Intrepid to life in every destination,” Mr Thornton said.

Australian-themed activities throughout the week gave international visitors a taste of local culture, from Tim Tam Slams and lamington teas to an introduction to Australian Rules Football through partner North Melbourne Football Club.

Intrepid will host its 2027 Global Summit in Morocco.
