The Council of Australian Tour Operators (CATO) has announced the top 20 agents for January in the CATO Touring Academy.

With representation from Queensland, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania, New South Wales and the ACT, January’s results reflect the continued national momentum behind the CATO Touring Academy.

Highlights from the January leaderboard:

  • Robert Fletcher (Flight Centre The Pines Elanora) starts 2026 in standout form, taking #1 outright with 1,060 points, rising from third place in December to lead the national rankings.
  • Danielle Cameron (Flight Centre Southport) and Zoe Hannaford (Flight Centre Stud Park) maintain strong momentum early in the year, securing #2 and #3 respectively following top-tier performances throughout late 2025.
  • New names entering the top 20 this month include Marilyn Antoniou (Flight Centre Ivanhoe), Eleni Georgiou (Flight Centre Modbury) and Ashlyn Baker (Flight Centre Bundaberg City).

The January leaderboard coincides with the launch of LA Essentials, a new destination training module developed in partnership with Los Angeles Tourism and now available exclusively within the CATO Touring Academy.

Essentials is a practical destination training module designed to help Australian travel agents confidently recommend Los Angeles as both a must-visit destination and a key gateway to North America.

The training supports newer agents looking to build destination knowledge, as well as experienced consultants seeking a destination refresh and updated selling points.

As an added incentive, agents who complete the LA Essentials module during February will go into the draw to win one $250 Gift Card, or one of five $50 runner-up Gift Cards.

“January’s leaderboard sets a strong tone for the year ahead, with both returning high performers and new names stepping up early in 2026,” said Brett Jardine, CATO Managing Director.

“We’re also pleased to support the launch of the LA Essentials module with Los Angeles Tourism, which adds further depth to the Academy’s destination training and gives agents practical tools to better serve their clients.”

“Los Angeles is one of the most dynamic and diverse destinations in the world, offering travel agents an incredible breadth of experiences to match every type of traveller – from first-time visitors and families to luxury seekers, culture lovers and sports fans,” said Craig Gibbons, Regional Vice President, Asia Pacific of Los Angeles Tourism.

“As both a destination in its own right and a key gateway to North America, LA gives agents flexibility, confidence and endless itinerary possibilities for their clients.

“Partnering with CATO is incredibly important to us, as it allows us to support Australian travel agents with practical, up-to-date destination knowledge that directly helps them sell and succeed.

“The LA Essentials module is designed to empower agents with the tools and insights they need to confidently recommend Los Angeles and we’re proud to collaborate with CATO in investing in agent education and long-term industry growth.”
