JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort and Spa has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Laura Wiersma as Director of Marketing and Tushar Gupta as Director of Finance.
The appointments mark a key step in the resort’s continued evolution, as it builds on its position as one of Australia’s leading luxury destinations.
Marketing leadership returns to familiar ground
Wiersma joined the resort in January 2026 and will lead marketing strategy, brand positioning and integrated campaigns, with a focus on enhancing guest experience and strengthening the resort’s identity.
Her appointment represents a full circle moment, having started her hospitality career at the property in 2016.
She previously held the role of Cluster Director of Marketing at Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park and Four Points by Sheraton Sydney, where she led multi property campaigns and partnerships.
Finance expertise strengthens operations
Gupta joined the resort in November 2025 and is responsible for financial strategy, reporting and operational performance.
With more than 15 years of international experience, he has held senior roles across India, the United Arab Emirates and Fiji, including Director of Finance at Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay.
His role focuses on supporting long term business growth and ensuring operational sustainability.
