García will oversee LATAM’s commercial and operational strategy across the Oceania region, including Australia and New Zealand, strengthening the airline’s presence and partnerships in these key markets.

His appointment reflects LATAM’s investment in the region as the airline expands services and deepens its engagement with partners, stakeholders and customers.

With more than 12 years of experience in commercial roles across the travel and tourism industry, Chico García brings a wealth of expertise in profit & loss management, revenue growth, strategic negotiations and market development.

Prior to joining LATAM, he served as Vertical Head, Commercial Partnerships for KAYAK in Asia Pacific, where he led the hotels and cars business across the region.

His appointment comes at a pivotal time for LATAM. Following the resumption of Sydney–Santiago services in October last year, LATAM will increase to daily non-stop flights from Sydney in November and expand its Melbourne–Santiago service to daily flights from December.

“I’m honoured to take on this role at such an exciting moment for LATAM,” Chico García commented about the appointment.

“With our upcoming daily services from both Sydney and Melbourne, we are better placed than ever to connect travellers in Oceania with Latin America.

“My focus will be on continuing to build strong partnerships, delivering value to our customers and ensuring LATAM is the airline of choice for travellers across the region.”
