Marriott Bonvoy is returning to centre court this summer, once again teaming up with Tennis Australia as the official hotel partner of the Australian Open and its lead-in tournaments including the United Cup, Hobart International, Brisbane International and Adelaide International.
Now celebrating its fifth year as a major partner of the Australian Open, the travel program continues to connect people with the passions that move them, from world class sport to world class stays.
“Tennis offers a unique lens to experience local culture,” says Jason Nuell, Regional Vice President, Marriott International, Australia, New Zealand and Pacific. “Over the Summer of Tennis, Marriott Bonvoy will welcome some of the sport’s biggest names, VIPs and fans into our incredible travel ecosystem, offering them a platform to eat, explore and experience the world, the tennis way.”
With more than 1.2 million fans attending the 2025 Australian Open, including thousands of international and interstate visitors, the event remains one of Australia’s biggest drivers of sports tourism.
Cedric Cornelis, Tennis Australia’s Chief Commercial Officer, says the ongoing partnership is a natural fit. “We’re both in the business of creating unforgettable experiences, whether it’s world class tennis across the Summer of Tennis or exceptional hospitality through Marriott Bonvoy’s global hotel portfolio.”
Marriott Bonvoy’s global membership now tops 248 million, playing an important role in bringing international travellers to Australia. The United States remains the biggest overseas market on Marriott.com, with tennis fans filling hotels across Melbourne during the tournament season.
According to Nuell, the partnership is hitting all the right business targets. “In 2025, Marriott Bonvoy member stays in Melbourne rose from around 50 per cent to over 75 per cent during the tournament,” he says. “We operated at high occupancy throughout, pacing in line with last year, and saw year on year increases in revenue per available room.”
For members, the experience is more than just a hotel stay. Marriott Bonvoy is once again offering over 55 unique Moments packages, giving guests access to money cant buy experiences such as premium seating at the men’s and women’s finals, private hospitality lounges and meet and greet opportunities with tennis legends. Last year alone, more than 17 million Marriott Bonvoy points were redeemed during the tournament, proof that travellers are keen to combine luxury stays with a little courtside action.
Guests can also enjoy special offers during the tournament season, including room upgrades, dining deals and tailored packages across Melbourne’s Marriott portfolio, including The Ritz Carlton Melbourne, W Melbourne, The Westin Melbourne, Melbourne Marriott Hotel, Melbourne Marriott Hotel Docklands, Element Melbourne Richmond, AC Hotel Melbourne Southbank, Le Meridien Melbourne, Courtyard by Marriott Melbourne Flagstaff Gardens and Sheraton Melbourne.
More announcements are set to follow, with news on culinary collaborations, ambassador programs and exclusive new member experiences expected in the lead up to the tournament.
