Luke Gibbs has been named General Manager of The Porter House Hotel Sydney, one of the city’s most distinctive boutique luxury addresses.
Mr Gibbs brings almost 20 years of experience across leading hospitality brands including Accor, Hyatt and Ovolo. He was formerly Cluster General Manager for Accor Vacation Club and most recently General Manager of Hotel Morris Sydney.
David Fraser, Vice President Operations Pacific for Sofitel, MGallery and Emblems, said the appointment set the tone for a new chapter at the property. “Luke has proven himself a commercially driven hotel leader with a track record of operational excellence. He joins The Porter House Hotel at an exciting time for the MGallery brand,” he said.
“This is an exceptional hotel that demands a General Manager who understands boutique luxury at its finest, where authenticity, craftsmanship and highly personalised service define the guest experience,” Mr Fraser said.

The Porter House blends heritage brickwork and arched windows with contemporary rooms, alongside an exterior mural by artist Maria Fernanda Cardoso that reaches 11 storeys into the skyline.
The building has also become a drawcard for dining, home to a ground floor café and the two hatted Lee Ho Fook by Victor Liong on Level 1. Mr Gibbs said the property’s history sets it apart.

Located in the CBD moments from Hyde Park and Pitt Street Mall, The Porter House is a heritage listed 1876 landmark offering 122 guest rooms and suites, a heated rooftop pool and a fitness centre.
A member of Historic Hotels Worldwide, the property was once a 19th century tobacco factory and leather merchant.
The Porter House is part of MGallery Collection, which spans more than 120 boutique hotels across over 110 countries as part of Accor and takes part in the ALL Accor Live Limitless loyalty programme.
