Australians can now explore some of the world’s most remote Nordic destinations by private plane, with Luxury Escapes unveiling its first-ever Arctic private charter tour.

The new 16-day Arctic Wonders Exclusive Private Charter will take travellers across Sweden, Finland, Norway, Iceland and Scotland aboard a privately chartered Boeing 737-300, combining luxury accommodation, bucket-list experiences and streamlined travel between destinations often difficult to access on commercial routes.

Created by Luxury Escapes’ in-house touring team, the itinerary begins in Stockholm before heading north into Finnish Lapland, the rugged Norwegian coastline, Iceland’s volcanic landscapes and finally Edinburgh.

Experiences range from sleeping beneath Arctic skies in glass-roofed igloos to cruising through Norway’s dramatic Trollfjord and dining inside a centuries-old Scottish castle.

Adam Schwab said Nordic destinations continue to climb Australian travellers’ wish lists, driven by growing interest in cinematic landscapes and nature-based experiences.

“Nordic destinations are incredibly high on our members’ bucket lists, fuelled by their cinematic landscapes made famous in Hollywood blockbusters, as well as a rise in nature-focused travel,” Mr Schwab said.

He said the private charter format allows travellers to access destinations that are not easily connected by commercial airlines, reducing transit time and maximising time on the ground.

Arctic itinerary spans five countries

The itinerary includes:

  • Three nights in Stockholm
  • Three nights in Rovaniemi
  • Three nights in the Lofoten Islands
  • Three nights in Reykjavik
  • Three nights in Edinburgh

Highlights include accommodation at the historic Grand Hôtel Stockholm, Nobel banquet dining experiences, geothermal bathing in Iceland and a farewell dinner at Barnbougle Castle overlooking the Firth of Forth.

Travellers will also have the option to take a polar plunge in Arctic waters while exploring Norway’s fjords.

Luxury Escapes said comparable private charter journeys can cost upwards of $10,000 per day, while its Arctic Wonders itinerary starts from $34,999 per person for the full 16-day experience.

The fare includes return international commercial flights from Australia, four internal private charter flights and accommodation across a range of four and five-star hotels.

The tour is on sale now through Luxury Escapes, via the company’s travel consultants and at its Sydney and Melbourne retail stores.
