National Geographic–Lindblad Expeditions is ramping up its Alaska program in 2027, answering the growing demand for immersive wilderness exploration.

The company is chartering the Greg Mortimer for three years, expanding its fleet as the iconic National Geographic Sea Bird and Sea Lion sail into their final season in 2026.

The Greg Mortimer, designed for remote environments, features cutting-edge technology like the Ulstein X-BOW® for smoother sailing and dynamic positioning to protect fragile seafloors.

With capacity for 154 guests, many in private balcony cabins, and ample observation spaces, the ship offers comfort alongside expert-led expedition learning and wellness experiences.

“This new addition lets us explore further and offer fresh itineraries deep into Alaska’s wildest corners,” Lindblad CEO Natalya Leahy said.

The upcoming Alaska season promises classic highlights including the dramatic Hubbard Glacier, scenic Inside Passage routes, and renowned wildlife spotting in areas like Misty Fjords and Tracy Arm. Travellers will have countless opportunities for Zodiac and kayak adventures under expert guidance.

For travel advisors, expert support is available via expedition specialists at Adventure World.

National Geographic–Lindblad continues to set the standard for small-ship Alaska expeditions, blending adventure, comfort, and unmatched local knowledge.
