A new 32-guest expedition yacht will begin sailing the Peruvian Amazon in December, offering journeys designed around wildlife, local communities and the changing seasonal rhythms of the rainforest.
The 74-metre Amazon Explorer will be &Beyond’s second luxury expedition yacht and the first to bring the company’s safari style guiding approach to the river.
Departures will begin in Iquitos before guests transfer to Nauta to board the vessel. Three-, four- and seven-night itineraries will operate across both high and low water seasons, with routes adapted to changes in water levels and access throughout the year.
Daily activities will include guided skiff excursions, rainforest walks, kayaking, night safaris and community visits, along with wellness experiences and opportunities to learn from local experts.
Wildlife sightings may include pink river dolphins, three-toed sloths, squirrel monkeys, scarlet macaws and caiman, with the possibility of spotting jaguar.
Mark Wheeler, &Beyond President, said the onboard experience was designed around interpretation rather than simply covering distance.
“Success here is not about reaching a particular place or ticking off sightings. It comes from taking the time to understand the relationships that shape the rainforest,” Mr Wheeler said.

The yacht will offer 12 luxury suites, two superior suites and one 80-square-metre deluxe suite, with interleading suites available for families.
Facilities will include an explorer centre, river retreat, wellness centre, gym, media room, sundeck and Pisco Bar.
Floor-to-ceiling windows and expansive decks have been incorporated throughout the vessel, while interiors will feature Peruvian craftsmanship including Shipibo inspired mosaics, textile art and locally influenced materials.
Selected beverages, meals, guided excursions, community visits, limited laundry, Starlink internet, emergency medical evacuation insurance and binoculars for guest use are included in each voyage.
Bookings are now open for departures from December, with an early bird pffer providing savings of up to 20% on selected voyages.
