The remarkable success of its inaugural Saudi Arabia itinerary has prompted Intrepid Travel to launch two new trips in the country.

The company is now offering the nine-day Saudi Arabia Highlights trip and seven-day Saudi Arabia Expedition: Asir Adventure.

The new trips follow the success of its inaugural Saudi Arabia itinerary, a 12-day Women’s Expedition that launched in 2024 and has seen passenger growth of 491% year-on-year.

The new open-gender trips offer immersive experiences across Saudi Arabia’s highlights and lesser-known Asir region of the South and will continue to support women in tourism.

All three trips are run in partnership with a local operator, a Saudi mother of two. Since the partnership began in 2024, Intrepid has grown its departures from two in 2024 to 16 in 2025, strengthening support for women-owned businesses and more than doubling the number of Intrepid female tour leaders in the region.

“Intrepid fundamentally believes that travel can be a force for good and we recognise that there is a broader appetite amongst travellers to explore Saudi Arabia in ways that contribute positively to local communities, particularly women,” said Erica Kritikides, General Manager of Global Experiences.

“We’re excited to continue evolving our offerings to all our travellers, while supporting women-owned businesses, creating employment pathways for women and showcasing lesser-known destinations.”

Travellers on the ‘Saudi Arabia Highlights’ trip will journey from the capital to the coast, immersing themselves in Saudi Arabia’s cultural highlights.

Experiences include sharing a traditional meal at a women’s project in Al-Ghat, camping under the stars on a local farm in AlUla, exploring the Holy City of Madinah with a local female guide and enjoying a home-cooked lunch with a grandmother in Riyadh.

Meanwhile, the ‘Saudi Arabia Expedition’ takes travellers to the lesser-known Asir region in the country’s southwest, with a hike through Tanomah’s rugged mountains, a visit to the museum of Fatima Faye Al-Almaai and a local Asiri meal following a stroll through one of region’s oldest traditional markets.

The new trips are available to book and departures commence from April 25, 2026.

The new seven-day ‘Saudi Arabia Expedition: Asir Adventure’ can be combined with the nine-day ‘Saudi Arabia Highlights’ trip or the 12-day ‘Saudi Arabia Women’s Expedition’ for a longer journey covering more of the country.
