Opened in 1975, Hilton Sydney was the birthplace of the hotel company’s journey in Australasia.

To mark the occasion, a special 50th birthday party was held at the Sydney property, the brand’s oldest standing hotel in the region.

The hotel recently completed a $40 million transformation that includes a renovation of the lobby, lobby lounge, executive lounge and guest hallways, as well as the addition of 12 new guest rooms, bringing the total to 598 elegantly appointed rooms and suites.

A personal video message from heiress Paris Hilton was played at the event while popular Aussie chef Curtis Stone was also in attendance.

Since opening its doors in the heart of Sydney’s CBD on George Street, Hilton Sydney has evolved into a popular destination for business travellers, global tourists and Sydneysiders alike. Over the years, the hotel has played host to world leaders, celebrities and major events.

Guests at the 50th party heard how Australia remains central to Hilton’s regional growth strategy, with plans to expand into new locations across Asia Pacific and continued investment in its Australian portfolio,

In Australasia, Hilton currently has 47 hotels trading, with a robust pipeline of 12 projects under planning or construction.

Upcoming openings include Waldorf Astoria Sydney, DoubleTree by Hilton Auckland, Hilton Garden Inn Suva, Hilton Garden Inn Brisbane and Hilton Garden Inn Sydney Kingswood.
