Virgin Australia will re-open the doors to its invitation-only Beyond Lounge in Perth early next year, marking a major milestone in the airline’s presence in Western Australia.

The airline has also announced a significant refurbishment of its Brisbane domestic facility as part of a major investment in its lounge network.

The Perth facility is expected to reopen in early 2027, expanding the exclusive network that includes Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

The move reflects growth in the airline’s corporate customer base in WA, particularly across the mining, energy and resources sectors.

In Brisbane, a multi-million-dollar refurbishment is scheduled for completion by mid-2027.

The expanded lounge will add around 100 seats, power access at every seat in the new area, an enclosed meeting room, individual work pods, upgraded bathrooms and showers and a new self-service beverage area.

Virgin Australia has also partnered with Shark Beauty to introduce hairdryers and hair straighteners across its lounge bathrooms nationally, while further domestic refurbishments are planned over coming years.

“We’re investing significantly across our lounge network because we know how important the lounge experience is to our guests, particularly those travelling frequently for work,” said Dave Emerson, Virgin Australia Group CEO.

“We’ve also listened to what our guests tell us matters most when they’re in our Lounges, which is why every seat in the new space will have access to power, making it easier to charge laptops, phones and other devices while they work or relax.”

Alongside the lounge investment, the airline has introduced WhatsApp customer service for Beyond members, Velocity Platinum Plus members and Virgin Australia Business Flyer members.

Eligible travellers can use the service for selected flight changes, upgrades and general travel enquiries.

“Taken together, these investments reflect our commitment to giving our guests a better experience, while continuing to invest where it makes most commercial sense,” added Mr Emerson.
