Princess Cruises is adding fresh experiences to its Western Mediterranean voyages aboard Sun Princess in 2026 and 2027, with new ports of call and immersive itineraries designed to showcase some of the region’s most celebrated destinations.
Across 16 enhanced seven-day cruises sailing between 4 April 2026 and 17 October 2027, guests will now visit Mallorca (Palma) and Corsica (Ajaccio), enjoy an overnight stay in La Spezia for easy access to Florence and Pisa, and discover new ports including Ibiza and Santa Margherita. To allow for these additions, Gibraltar will no longer be included.
The updated itineraries promise a mix of cultural capitals and hidden gems, with shore excursions curated to give travellers a deeper connection to each destination. Highlights include:
- Corsica (Ajaccio, France): Birthplace of Napoléon Bonaparte, where visitors can explore his childhood home or spend time at A Cupulatta Tortoise Sanctuary.
- Genoa (Italy): Gateway to the dramatic cliffside villages of Cinque Terre, or a chance to explore Genoa’s own rich maritime and culinary history.
- Marseille (France): A base for Provence excursions, from Aix-en-Provence’s lively squares to panoramic views from the Basilica Notre-Dame de la Garde.
- Mallorca (Palma, Spain): Excursions range from a vintage train ride through the Tramuntana Mountains to wine tasting in Santa Maria del Camí, or a full-day tour blending Palma’s Gothic landmarks with countryside treasures.
- Ibiza (Spain): Beyond the beaches, guests can uncover UNESCO-listed Dalt Vila, explore the island’s traditional villages, or enjoy authentic cuisine at Can Curreu, a country estate in the north.
- Santa Margherita (Italy): A Ligurian Coast gem with excursions to Portofino, the fishing village of Camogli, and the abbey of San Fruttuoso, alongside culinary experiences such as pesto-making and olive oil tastings.
Sailing between Barcelona and Civitavecchia (Rome), these itineraries bring together history, culture, and authentic local flavours, with select overnight stays offering more time in port.
Bookings are open now for Australian travellers looking to explore the Mediterranean with Princess Cruises’ signature all-inclusive experience aboard the Sun Princess.
