Despite geopolitical headwinds and growing global uncertainty last year, the world’s largest adventure company achieved $873.3m (+26% YoY) in bookings; $809.3 in revenue (+29%); $53.9m (+26%) Underlying EBITDA; and a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 83.
These results, outlined in Intrepid’s 2025 Integrated Annual Report, reflect growing demand for experience-rich, community focused travel, alongside disciplined operational performance and ongoing investment in people, impact and long-term growth.
James Thornton, Intrepid’s CEO (main image), said the results reflect the enduring strength of the company’s purpose-led model.
“Our 2025 performance shows that it is possible to grow a resilient, profitable business while staying true to our values – even in the face of global uncertainty,” added Mr Thornton.
“At a time when the world is more divided than ever, I’m incredibly proud that more travellers are choosing to experience the world the Intrepid way.
“These results are testament to our team, who deliver exceptional experiences for our customers while creating positive impact for communities.”
Solid Financial Performance Supports Future Growth
Intrepid’s strong increases in bookings and revenue were underpinned by growing demand for its style of experience-rich travel.
There was standout growth across the Australia and UK markets, as well as the additions through the acquisition of Dutch tour operator Sawadee Reizen.
Underlying EBITDA reached $53.9m, reflecting the strength of Intrepid’s core business and an increased focus on efficient operations. Growth in its core came from organic growth in key sales markets.
The business continued to share its success with its people, with $10.7m in employee bonuses being offered in the form of both cash and shares.
This is in line with Intrepid’s long-held belief that Intrepid should be owned by the people who run it.
The company has a goal to double the current employee shareholding to 20 per cent. In addition to the employee bonus, the Board also approved a dividend of 7c per ordinary share for eligible shareholders.
Growing Impact Alongside Profit
Beyond financial performance, it was another milestone year for Intrepid’s impact agenda, including its not-for-profit, The Intrepid Foundation, disbursing a record $3.4m (+42% YoY) to communities around the world.
The annual report also outlines the company’s new five-year Impact Strategy and its new Climate Action Plan, which includes launching a new $2m annual Climate Impact Fund from 2026 onwards for decarbonisation initiatives.
# Intrepid has also launched its Outback and Tropics sale, offering 20 per cent off selected trips across Australia.
The discounts apply to adventures in Australia including bestselling trips such as the Wild Kimberly Overland, Red Centre and Uluru Explorer and Kimberly Trail. The sale runs from now until March 31.
“It’s the perfect time to roam closer to home,” said Yvette Thompson, General Manager, Sales and Marketing, ANZ.
“Australia has something for everyone – snorkel Ningaloo Reef in WA, wander through Queensland’s ancient rainforests or hike in the world heritage listed Kakadu National Park in the NT.
“Intrepid makes travelling Australia easy and allows travellers to experience the country in a way not possible on their own.”
