A new study has revealed the 15 safest countries For LGBTQ travellers in 2025.
Developed by MouseNotifier, the research has ranked 203 countries based on their LGBTQ+ rights and safety.
Key Findings
- Sweden ranks #1 with strong protections, including legalised same-sex marriage and hate crime laws.
- Canada and the Netherlands also lead due to favourable worker protections and public acceptance.

The study analysed the countries using five factors: legalised same-sex marriage, LGBTQ+ worker protections, criminalisation of hate-based violence, Gallup World Poll data and the presence of laws criminalising LGBTQ+ acts.
Countries were scored based on these factors, with penalties applied for harmful laws.
