The epic 175-night cruise will feature 68 late nights and overnights aboard Azamara Onward.

“Our 2028 World Cruise represents Azamara’s most culturally immersive journey yet,” says Dondra Ritzenthaler, CEO of Azamara Cruises.

“As guests traverse oceans and continents, they’ll experience a remarkable sense of connection to each destination, to the people they encounter and to our warm, welcoming crew.”

Departing Miami on January 5, 2028, Azamara Onward sets off on a global journey with first stops in the Southern Caribbean and Latin America, calling on Aruba and Colombia before a Panama Canal transit and visits to Ecuador and Peru.

Guests will have the rare opportunity to visit Easter Island, Chile, and explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Rapa Nui National Park, as well as Pitcairn Island – a true bucket-list destination home to fewer than 50 residents.

After crossing the Pacific, guests enjoy an overnight in Tahiti and Bora Bora before venturing on to New Zealand and Australia, including stops in Christchurch, Sydney, and Cairns.

The cruise continues through Asia with immersive calls in Indonesia, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand and Singapore, then sails across the Indian Ocean to Sri Lanka.

In southern Africa, guests visit South Africa and Namibia before continuing north to the Canary Islands.

The cruise then carries on to Morocco, Barcelona, the French Riviera and Italy, including Rome, the Amalfi Coast and Sicily before cruising through Croatia, the Greek Isles and Turkey. The journey concludes on June 29, 2028, in Athens.

The 2028 World Cruise is divided into 14 segments, giving travellers the flexibility to experience the full 175-night journey, each with its own mix of marquee cities, lesser-known ports and visits to more than 15 UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Each segment will also feature its own slate of exclusive events, AzAmazing Evenings and curated enrichment that reflect the cultures guests will experience – from regionally inspired entertainment and guest lecturers to special tastings and celebratory deck parties.

Throughout the cruise, Azamara will also offer a collection of overland experiences designed to bring guests even closer to some of the world’s most famous sites.

Planned and anticipated programs include multi-day journeys to destinations such as Beijing, the Great Wall and Xi’an with the Terra Cotta Warriors and the temples of Siam Reap, including Angkor Wat.
