Australia’s first five-star overnight river vessel is set to launch this spring, with $500 savings per couple available for bookings made before September 30.
The new paddlesteamer PS Australian Star will offer three-, four- and seven-night cruises on the Murray River from Echuca in Victoria.
The largest wood-fired paddlesteamer in the Southern Hemisphere and the only five-star accommodated paddlesteamer in the world, PS Australian Star accommodates just 38 guests in deluxe air-conditioned staterooms.
She combines an authentic 19th-century design with modern-day luxuries including a plush lounge with sweeping river vistas, a gourmet restaurant and multiple outdoor relaxation areas.
All-inclusive fares cover gourmet meals, daily excursions to farm stations, wineries and heritage towns, riverside barbecues under the stars, return V/Line rail transfers between Melbourne and Echuca, Wi-Fi, gratuities and selected beverages.
Fares start from $2,540 per person twin share for a three-night cruise, $3,470 for four nights and $6,300 for seven nights, including the $250 per person saving.
