The airline is giving away 30 return economy seats from Sydney to Queenstown, exclusively for eligible singles.
The promotion is being staged to mark 30 years of flights between the two destinations by New Zealand’s national carrier.
New research from Air NZ has found that many Sydney locals are feeling dating app burnout with:
# 41% saying they’ve “given up” on the local dating pool
# 62% are open to dating someone outside their city
# 87% say they’ve either had, or are open to, a holiday romance.
“Our research shows Sydney singles aren’t just open to change, they’re craving it,” said Kathryn O’Brien, Air New Zealand General Manager of Australia.
“Whether it’s swiping in future holiday spots or bending the digital rules to meet someone new, daters are actively seeking novelty, adventure and fresh faces.”

You’ll be asked to share a short story about why you (or your mate) deserve to be on board.
A video upload is optional, but highly encouraged for extra charm, or to really sell why your single mate deserves to find love!
There are 30 return seats (15 winners and their bestie) up for grabs and entries close at midnight on July 30.
“Whether love takes off or not, it’s the perfect chance to unplug, explore somewhere new, and come home with fresh stories and perspectives,” added Ms O’Brien.
