Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) is celebrating the last of four weekly themes in its 2025 Cruise Month campaign.
Attention now focuses on the huge growth seen among luxury cruise lines worldwide and the growing opportunities presented by an expanding luxury fleet.
Luxury cruising will be at the forefront this week in CLIA’s social media activity, digital advertising, educational opportunities and other marketing initiatives.
Joel Katz, CLIA Managing Director in Australasia, said the global luxury cruise fleet had more than tripled in size since 2010 and was forecast to expand further over coming years.
“The number of people choosing luxury cruise lines is forecast to grow more than 20% over the next three years as new and more spectacular ships join the world fleet,” Mr Katz said.
“Our surveys of travel agents have found that premium and luxury cruise holidays are showing the greatest growth right now, which means travellers are putting more and more importance on high-end experiences when they take a holiday.”
Under the banner #LoveCruise, this year’s Cruise Month activities are showcasing the huge diversity of cruise lines and experiences available in each of four weekly themes – ‘Ocean Cruising’, ‘River Cruising’, ‘Expedition Cruising’ and ‘Luxury Cruising’.
Initiatives will highlight the advantages of booking a cruise through a cruise specialist travel agent and will encourage consumers to connect with a certified CLIA member.
Other highlights of Cruise Month include special cruise editions in travel media, a bigger-than-ever webinar program for CLIA travel agents, new video Spotlight Sessions to provide learning resources for agents and weekly Cruise Month specials emailed to CLIA travel agent members.
A Cruise Month toolkit is available to help CLIA members mount their own marketing initiatives, offering downloadable resources including logos, videos, social media tiles, digital banners, posters, customisable flyers, special offers and promotions, and other marketing assets.
The Cruise Month Toolkit is available via the CLIA Members Hub.
