The renowned Sabi Sabi Collection has unveiled The Claremont Boutique Hotel, a refined new addition set within Cape Town’s leafy suburb of Claremont. This opening marks the Collection’s first venture beyond the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, bringing more than 40 years of world-class South African hospitality to the Mother City.

At its heart stands a 1928 manor house designed by Magdalena Gertrude Sauer, South Africa’s first registered female architect. Her original design with elegant proportions, high ceilings and graceful lines has been lovingly restored, balancing heritage charm with contemporary comfort.

With just 15 rooms, The Claremont promises an intimate experience. Guests can choose from Deluxe Rooms, Classic Rooms, or the exclusive Sauer Villa, set within the manor or overlooking the tranquil gardens and pool. A serene spa, sauna and pool area complete the atmosphere of relaxation and wellbeing.

The hotel’s social spaces channel Sabi Sabi’s spirit of connection and authenticity. The Safari Room offers a warm, lodge-style welcome, while the light-filled Sun Lounge invites leisurely reading or conversation beneath original architectural details.

At the Veld & Vine Bistro, the menu celebrates provenance and place with Western Cape flavours and Mediterranean flair, built around fresh seasonal produce, local seafood, and fynbos-reared meats. The Koffiehuis serves ethically sourced coffee and high tea throughout the day, while evenings unfold in the 1928 Craft Bar, where South African wines, small-batch gins and classic cocktails take centre stage.

“This opening is a natural evolution of our story,” Sabi Sabi Collection Marketing Director Jacques Smit said. “The Claremont reflects everything our guests value in the bush authenticity, heritage and warmth while offering a new way to experience Cape Town. It connects city and safari through one philosophy of genuine hospitality.”

Perfectly positioned near Table Mountain, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, Constantia’s vineyards and the Atlantic Seaboard, The Claremont invites guests to blend Cape Town’s cultural richness with a Sabi Sabi safari experience. Together, these destinations continue the Collection’s legacy of two landscapes, one story, and a singular standard of South African hospitality.
