The famil was organised by Heavens Portfolio in partnership with Far & Beyond for the group of trade partners from across Australasia.
Chrissie Lincoln, Managing Director of Heavens Portfolio Australia, joined guests from agencies including Frontier Travel, 1000 Mile, Aora Escapes, Orbit World Travel and ATPI NZ, travelling across New Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Udaipur and Jodhpur.
The luxurious journey blended history and architecture with local cultural experiences, alongside highlights such as a visit to the 16th century Humayun’s Tomb and the famed UNESCO World Heritage sites, Taj Mahal and Red Fort in Agra.
This was followed by an immersive cooking demonstration and dinner with a local Indian family, allowing each guest to refine their appreciation for the art and flavours of regional Rajasthani cuisine.
The group also enjoyed an exhilarating ride on a cycle rickshaw in Old Delhi (Delhi’s historical old town)- a tricycle designed to transport passengers around its bustling streets, passing through Chandni Chowk – a grand bazaar built in 1648.
Royal residences, Umaid Palace and City Palace in Jaipur, were also on the agenda, as was a pitstop to the ‘Palace of the Winds,’ a red and pink sandstone palace, referred to as the ‘Hawa Mahal’ – a residence reserved for the royal women of Jaipur’s royal household.
In addition to the above, a village safari by jeep in Mihi Garh – the heart of rural Rajasthan – was also part of the experiential travel journey, where the group learnt from premier ecologists of the world – the Bishnoi community.
The familiarisation trip concluded back in Delhi, where the group enjoyed a night out on the town, dancing with locals with the cricket in the background, before the evening concluded with a night at The Imperial.
