Sydney Airport has awarded its foreign exchange and ATM services contract to Travelex, with the brand returning to the airport from July 1.
There will be an initial network of 10 stores at T1 International and more than 20 ATMs dispensing both Australian dollars and foreign currencies.
Mark Zaouk, Sydney Airport Group Executive Commercial, said the appointment reflected the evolving needs of today’s traveller.
“Travelex’s expanded offering will provide passengers with greater choice, convenience and flexibility, helping to enhance the travel experience from departure through to arrival,” Mr Zaouk said.
Asokan Sathurayar, Travelex Managing Director Australia and New Zealand, said securing the contract was a strong endorsement of the brand’s customer proposition, particularly during a milestone year.
“We’re delighted to be returning to Sydney Airport, particularly during a milestone year for Travelex as we celebrate 50 years of helping travellers explore the world,” Mr Sathurayar said.
Travellers will be able to access more than 50 foreign currencies through online pre-order or directly in store, as well as acquire or reload a pre-paid Travelex Travel Money Card with a choice of up to 10 different currencies.
