A world-first walking experience through Australia’s spiritual heartland is now open for booking, with Tasmanian Walking Company announcing prices for its Uluru-Kata Tjuta Signature Walk set to launch on 30 April 2026.

The five-day, four-night small-group journey spans 54km, beginning at the base of Kata Tjuta and winding east across ancient desert landscapes to the edge of Uluru. In a national first, travellers will overnight within the boundaries of the World Heritage-listed Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, staying in two spectacular off-grid eco-camps and an architecturally designed wilderness lodge.

Priced from $5,395 per person twin share, the fully guided walk includes immersive cultural experiences with Anangu Traditional Owners, three-course meals (including a starlit dinner overlooking Kata Tjuta), and seamless transfers from Yulara. Airfares from major cities to Yulara have also been released, allowing travellers to start planning their Red Centre escape 12 months in advance.

“This walk is ten years in the making and 500 million years in the shaping,” said Heath Garratt, General Manager of Operations at Tasmanian Walking Company. “It is deeply immersive, profoundly respectful, and designed to open the heart.”

The trail has been developed over a decade in close collaboration with the Anangu people, the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Board of Management, Parks Australia, and the Central Land Council. Every booking includes a $500 contribution that goes directly toward park conservation and community support.

Along the way, guests can expect:

  • Four nights in eco-sensitive camps and private lodge accommodation
  • All meals included, with fine dining and wines each evening
  • Expert local guides leading each step of the journey
  • Anangu-led cultural workshops and storytelling
  • Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park pass and all transfers
  • Complimentary walking gear for use on the trail
