Following the opening of Dreamskape’s first augmented reality (AR) entertainment centre in July last year, Dreamrace officially launched yesterday at District Docklands, Melbourne.

Dreamrace features new-tech VR rides with advanced motion simulators, as well as active adventure courses inspired by classic video game concepts.

A new Dreamskape is now open at Westfield Knox with Westfield Southland opening in December. Interstate Dreamskapes are set to open in 2026.

Dreamskape and Dreamrace offer a fully interactive hybrid experience that is unique in Australia.

Players can choose from more than 150 active games, immersive experiences, rides and adventure courses that combine cutting edge VR and AR with physical challenges and rollercoaster and motorbike inspired motion simulators.

“Several of our attractions are true Australian firsts and many of them are normally only found at world expos or major theme parks overseas,” said Joanna Chen, co-founder and President of Dreamskape.

“For example, Dreamrace’s Hurricane 360 VR is the only one of its kind.”

The 360 coaster simulator Hurricane (main picture) has six-axis motion technology that simulates the wildest twists, drops and turns, with 15 different experiences to choose from.

“Another Australian exclusive is our Dream Spartan and Dream Ronin adventure games at adventure games at Docklands: an active experience that we pioneered by combining advanced gaming software from the Netherlands with state-of-the-art hardware from China.

“It’s the first time this technology has been integrated anywhere in the world and Dreamrace is the only place you can play it.”

The owners plan to invest $30 million to build a total of 20 Dreamskape complexes in Australia and New Zealand over the next five to eight years.
