Flights are often delayed for a number of reasons but an airport in Japan has been brought to a standstill by a bear.

The incident happened in the city of Hanamaki when a bear wandered onto the airport tarmac, causing flights to be temporarily suspended for more than an hour.

Bear encounters in Japan have reached record levels with 13 people killed this year and more than 100 wounded, forcing authorities to bring in troops to stop the attacks.
