The initiative recognises the most engaged learners in the CATO Touring Academy for the past month.
Following a fiercely competitive July, Rosemary Spiteri from The Curated Traveller has surged ahead to take the outright #1 position for August, amassing an impressive 755 points – a remarkable demonstration of dedication to professional development.
The August leaderboard saw major shifts and new milestones:
# Brett Atkinson (Flight Centre Forest Hill) rockets into #2, a huge leap from July.
# Amy Mudge (Flight Centre The Pines Elanora), May Kelly (Flight Centre Glenorchy), and Abby Johnson (Flight Centre Barossa Valley) join the prestigious 725-point club, reflecting the growing intensity of competition.
# Danielle Cameron (Flight Centre The Pines Elanora) and Samantha McLean (Flight Centre Carindale) break into the top 10 with strong gains.
# Maria Summers makes a welcome return to the Top 20, showcasing the value of consistent learning.
With eight agents tied at 725 points or higher, August has been one of the most competitive months yet, proving that excellence in touring knowledge spans across all states and retail networks.
“Our August leaderboard is a testament to the incredible dedication of retail travel agents nationwide,” said Brett Jardine, CATO Managing Director.
“Each of these top 20 agents is investing in their expertise to deliver exceptional touring experiences for their clients, and we’re proud to celebrate their achievements.”
The CATO Touring Academy now features more than 60 interactive modules covering destinations, brands and niche touring styles, giving agents the tools to match travellers with their perfect touring experience.
# In other news, CATO has announced that Lisa Pagotto has resigned from her role as Vice-Chair and board member.
Lisa informed the board of her decision last week, choosing to step away in order to focus on new ventures that require her full energy and leadership.
Her resignation marks the conclusion of more than five years of board service, including the past three and a half as Vice-Chair.
“I’ve always believed that progress comes from thinking differently, even when that’s uncomfortable,” said Ms Pagotto.
“I’m proud to have stood for innovation, member connection and a more inclusive, future-focused voice. I remain committed to those values and to the broader conversations they’ve helped ignite.”
