Azamara Cruises is expanding its presence in Alaska with the launch of its 2027 Alaska cruisetours, combining its signature small ship sailings with curated inland journeys through Alaska and the Canadian Rockies.

The announcement follows strong guest feedback ahead of the line’s return to Alaska in 2026, with travellers expressing a clear desire for deeper, more immersive experiences both at sea and on land.

The new cruisetours extend Azamara’s Destination Immersion® philosophy beyond the coastline, offering guests the opportunity to pair 10 and 11 night Alaska sailings with four, five or six night land programmes. The result is a seamless, bundled holiday that blends wilderness, wildlife, culture and iconic rail journeys.

Shandra Stoeterau, Director of Land Product Development at Azamara Cruises, said guest feedback played a central role in shaping the expanded offering.

“The return to Alaska in 2026 reaffirms what we hear time and again from our guests, that deeper, more immersive experiences are what matter most,” she said. “Our 2027 Alaska cruisetours allow us to thoughtfully extend our Destination Immersion philosophy beyond the coastline and into Alaska’s interior and the Canadian Rockies, while maintaining the seamless, one stop experience travellers value.”

Each cruisetour includes hotel stays, transfers, luggage handling, escorted touring, selected meals and admissions, allowing guests to explore inland destinations without the complexity of independent planning.

Alaska’s interior takes centre stage

The four night Alaska Explorer cruisetour, available as a pre or post cruise option, showcases the cultural and natural highlights of the state’s interior. Guests cruise the Chena River aboard a historic sternwheeler, try their hand at gold panning and travel in a deluxe dome railcar through spectacular landscapes.

In Denali National Park, the Tundra Wilderness Tour offers opportunities to spot native wildlife, while Talkeetna delivers a jet boat adventure. Cultural immersion continues at the Alaska Native Heritage Center with hands on programming designed to connect visitors with local traditions.

Iconic rail journeys through the Rockies

For those looking to extend their journey into Canada, Azamara is offering two five night Canadian Rockies cruisetours centred on the Rocky Mountaineer rail experience.

The GoldLeaf Service option delivers an elevated journey through the Canadian Rockies, with dome seating, gourmet dining and access to outdoor viewing platforms. Highlights include Banff National Park, Lake Louise, Moraine Lake and a scenic gondola ride with sweeping mountain views.

The SilverLeaf Service offers the same dramatic landscapes in a more relaxed setting, with panoramic windows and freshly prepared meals served at guests’ seats, providing comfort and value without compromising on scenery.

A six night Banff, Lake Louise and Whistler cruisetour, available as a pre cruise option, takes guests from Calgary to Vancouver. The itinerary features scenic drives through the Rockies, wildlife viewing by Land Rover, local wine tasting and guided touring in Vancouver.

Transpacific pairings

Select 2027 Alaska cruisetours will also be paired with transpacific sailings from Northern Japan to Alaska. The combination offers travellers the chance to explore Japan before crossing the Pacific and continuing inland through Alaska and the Canadian Rockies, creating a multi layered journey rich in cultural contrast and destination depth.

With extended stays, smaller ships and now expanded land experiences, Azamara is positioning its 2027 Alaska season as a comprehensive exploration of the region, from glacier lined coastlines to towering mountain peaks.
