How to build a resilient and positive impact-led travel industry is the subject of a new book about to be released shortly.

Regenerative Tourism and Hospitality has been written by Amanda Ho and will be launched in Europe and worldwide on March 3.

“We talk about sustainability constantly, yet the places we love are still under strain,” Amanda says in publicity material released for the book.

“Ecosystems are degrading. Cultures are being diluted. Inequality is deepening. And the travel industry sits right at the centre of all of it.”

Ms Ho is a pioneering voice in the regenerative travel movement and the CEO of RegenerativeTravel.com, where she leads a global community dedicated to transforming tourism into a force for positive change.

“If tourism is going to have a future, one that communities actually want and ecosystems can sustain, we have to move beyond doing less harm and start asking a deeper question: What is this place asking for?” Ms Ho adds.

“Regeneration reframes the role of travel entirely. It asks how tourism can actively restore ecosystems, strengthen communities and regenerate culture, leaving places better than before. Not in theory, but in practice.”

Through case studies from independent hotels, destination operators and leaders across the travel ecosystem, along with the story of how Regenerative Travel itself came to life, Ms Ho aims to show what regeneration looks like when applied in practice.

“This is not a book about sustainability as compliance, it is a book about responsibility, humility and learning to lead differently.

“I wrote it for hoteliers, business and destination leaders, executives, and practitioners who feel the same pull I do. The sense that growth must be redefined, that stewardship is now a core leadership responsibility and that profitability and purpose can no longer be separated.”
