Australia remains Eurail’s second largest global market after the United States, with more than 52,000 Australians travelling across Europe using a Eurail Pass in 2025.
The data also shows more than 6,000 travellers from New Zealand used the pass during the same period.
Youth travellers aged 12 to 27 represented the largest share of Australian passholders in 2025, accounting for 40 percent. They were followed by adults aged 28 to 59 at 38 percent and seniors aged 60 and over at 19 percent.
Eurail reported that Australian travellers tend to stay longer in Europe and visit multiple destinations. The most popular cities visited by Australian Eurail passholders in 2025 included Milan, Zurich, Rome, Florence and Amsterdam, while the most visited countries were Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
The company has also announced several new rail connections for 2026 across its network of 33 European countries. These include a new direct connection between Riga in Latvia and Tallinn in Estonia, as well as improved services linking Austria, Italy, Slovenia and Croatia following the opening of the Koralm railway line.
Additional routes expected in 2026 include new night train services linking Paris and Berlin, as well as Brussels and Milan.
Eurail has also announced a limited sale offering 15 percent off Global Passes and One Country Passes for bookings made between 11 and 31 March 2026.
