Inside Travel’s cultural adventure specialist, InsideAsia, has launched a new superior grade small group tour to South Korea, responding to growing demand for immersive cultural travel experiences in the destination.

The new 13-night Majestic Korea tour explores the Korean peninsula through a mix of cities, coastal regions and rural mountain landscapes, with most travel taking place by train.

The itinerary begins in Seoul before continuing to the coastal city of Gangneung. Travellers will then take the newly launched KTX high-speed train along the east coast to Gyeongju, followed by visits to Busan and the rural gateway of Gwangju.

Along the way, guests will experience Korea’s rich blend of history, craft traditions and culinary culture, including visits to lesser-known communities and unique local experiences.

South Korea Product Manager Becky Barry said the new tour builds on the success of the company’s previous Korea small group journey.

“This is our second small group tour after Soul of Korea, which completely sold out last year. The tour is designed for travellers who enjoy staying in comfort while exploring and experiencing a new culture,” Barry said.

“As well as insider insight into cities such as Seoul, Busan and Gyeongju, we visit lesser-known locations, including a renowned tofu restaurant in Gangneung and traditional craft experiences in rural Sunchang and Yeongam village.”

Group Tour Manager Richard Farmer said the tour follows a similar format to InsideAsia’s award-winning Japan small group tours.

“With a maximum of 14 guests, we can access smaller, exclusive locations and travel largely by public transport. It allows travellers to get beneath the surface and experience Korea’s fascinating culture in a deeper way,” Farmer said.

The Majestic Korea tour will run with two departures in October, timed to coincide with Korea’s autumn season. Prices start from $14,560 per person and include 13 nights’ accommodation, transport across Korea, daily breakfast, select meals and an Insider tour leader.
