Both were on the agenda recently during a gathering of Travellers Choice’s business development managers.
The four key BDMs came together in Perth last month for an annual training and team building session.
This year’s program combined high-level briefings from senior managers with a round at Matagarup Mini Golf, dinner at Australia’s largest pub (The Camfield) and a ferry trip to Rottnest Island, home to the famous quokka.
The Rottnest excursion – kindly organised by preferred partner Journey Beyond and Rottnest Island Authority – provided the group with a preview of this year’s Travellers Choice conference in November when around 250 delegates will travel to Perth, and picturesque ‘Rotto” will serve as a tempting pre/post touring option.
General Manager Sales Nicola Strudwick says the two-day gathering recognised the work the national sales team do in “bringing the Travellers Choice experience to life every day.”
“The relationships each of our state-based BDMs have with Travellers Choice members is remarkable and remains fundamental to the success of our group,” said Ms Strudwick.
“By bringing them all together once a year we also ensure that the connections they have with each other are just as strong. That’s why they are so effective not just in their respective states but as a national team.
“If they are to offer members the highest level of support, it’s also vital our BDMs are fully across our continually evolving products and services.
“This year, we had a particular focus on our emerging technology projects and how these are helping us find new and better ways to help our members grow their businesses.
“Ultimately, the aim was for all of our BDMs to return to their states with a clear picture of where our company is heading and how we plan to get there – as well as some wonderful memories of Western Australia.”
