Wild Coast Tented Lodge, the award-winning Relais and Châteaux property on the edge of Yala National Park in Sri Lanka, has reopened with refreshed interiors, new spaces and an expanded program of cultural experiences.
Positioned where the jungle meets the Indian Ocean on the country’s south eastern coastline, the lodge has long been celebrated for redefining the luxury safari experience.
The refresh preserves the property’s distinctive character while introducing several new additions.
The Library Cocktail Lounge is a new intimate retreat combining handcrafted cocktails and local stories in an elegant setting overlooking the wilderness.
The Oculus is a striking new architectural space housing both the Fossil Room and Quarry Gym, inviting guests to explore the geological history of the region alongside nature-inspired wellness experiences.
Dining venues have also been reimagined with seasonal menus drawing on Sri Lanka’s culinary heritage and surrounding landscape.
Beyond Yala’s legendary leopard safaris, the reopening expands the lodge’s cultural offering with new heritage-led experiences including visits to the ancient monastery of Sithulpawwa and curated encounters with the traditions and communities of Sri Lanka’s southern coast.
The reopening was marked with traditional Sri Lankan ceremonies including performances by Wes and peacock dancers alongside a ceremonial milk boiling ritual symbolising prosperity and new beginnings.
