Eight passengers had the fright of their lives when the seaplane they were travelling in crashed into New York’s East river.
Harrowing vision shows the moment the plane dramatically hits the water, with the captain signalling “mayday” on the radio.
The Kodiak 100 hit the East River as it approached the Skyport terminal along 23rd Street and FDR Drive, the New York Post reported.
Passengers held their breath as the plane hit the water and partially submerged, with the captain telling them to put on their life vests.
Those onboard were reportedly returning from a birthday party when the accident occurred. Two people suffered minor injuries in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
