Malaysia Airlines has reaffirmed its commitment to the Australasian market through its Elite Trade Partner Evening.

Held at CIRQ, Crown Sydney, the event brought together approximately 100 leading travel advisors, agency partners and industry stakeholders from across the region.

The occasion celebrated the achievements of Malaysia Airlines’ top-performing travel trade partners and underscored the strong collaborations that continue to drive growth across Australia and New Zealand.

Bringing together industry stakeholders from across the region, the evening featured recognition of outstanding trade partners alongside updates on the airline’s network, product and commercial developments, reinforcing a shared commitment to expanding connectivity and stimulating travel demand across the airline’s global network.

Australasia remains a strategically important market for Malaysia Airlines, supported by strong demand for seamless connectivity via Kuala Lumpur to destinations across Asia, India and beyond.

As part of its ANZ growth strategy, the airline continues to invest in network expansion, fleet modernisation and customer experience enhancements, with Australia remaining a key focus market.

The recent increase in Adelaide earlier this year and Brisbane services from five to seven weekly flights from October, alongside the deployment of the A330neo, reflects Malaysia Airlines’ confidence in the market and commitment to delivering greater connectivity and an elevated travel experience for customers across the region.

“Our travel trade partners have been instrumental to Malaysia Airlines’ success across Australia and New Zealand,” said Dersenish Aresandiran, Chief Commercial Officer of Airline Business from Malaysia Aviation Group.

“The Elite Trade Partner Evening is an opportunity to recognise their contribution, celebrate our shared achievements and strengthen the partnerships that continue to drive growth across the region.

“As we enhance our products, expand connectivity and elevate the customer experience, our trade partners remain central to our growth strategy.

“Together, we are creating greater opportunities to connect travellers from Australia and New Zealand to Malaysia and onward to destinations across Asia and beyond.”

Malaysia Airlines continues to see strong demand from Australia & New Zealand travellers seeking seamless access to destinations across Asia, India and beyond via Kuala Lumpur.

Supported by convenient connectivity, a modern fleet and signature Malaysian hospitality, the airline remains well positioned to serve the evolving needs of both leisure and business travellers.

Beyond connectivity, Malaysia Airlines continues to showcase Malaysia as a destination in its own right.

Through initiatives such as the Bonus Side Trip programme, eligible international travellers can explore more of Malaysia with a complimentary domestic flight to selected destinations, supporting the nation’s tourism ambitions under Visit Malaysia 2026, recently extended through 2027.

As the airline continues to enhance its network and customer proposition, collaboration with the travel trade community remains central to connecting more travellers to Malaysia, Asia and beyond.
