From unique escapes and culinary experiences to festivals and regional attractions, the finalists in this year’s NSW Tourism Awards showcase the depth and diversity of the state’s tourism offering.
Some 210 nominations were received across 30 categories covering attractions, accommodation, events, food and beverage, ecotourism and tour operations.
This year’s program attracted 48 first-time entrants, with finalists assessed through a judging process involving 50 judges, industry quality standards and a consumer review score component.
Natalie Godward, NSW Tourism Association CEO, said reaching the finalist stage reflected both the visitor experience and the work taking place behind the scenes within each business.
“These awards recognise more than a great tourism experience. Every finalist had to look deeply at their business and demonstrate the quality, capability and continuous improvement that sits behind the experience they deliver,” Ms Godward said.
Finalists span destinations across Sydney, the North Coast, Central NSW, Country and Outback, Riverina and Murray, Southern NSW and the wider Sydney surrounds.
Businesses recognised range from major attractions and festivals to wildlife experiences, regional accommodation, tour operators, restaurants and visitor services.
The NSW Tourism Association also expanded its entrant support program this year, adding a mentoring service alongside draft reviews and webinars.
Around a quarter of entrants participated in personalised mentoring, while more than half joined the support webinars.
Eligible Gold winners will progress to the Australian Tourism Awards, representing NSW at the national level.
The 2026 NSW Tourism Awards will be held at ICC Sydney on November 9, following Destination NSW’s annual Visitor Economy Forum.
