Viking has taken delivery of its newest European river ship, Viking Rota, adding another Longship to its growing fleet.
The 190-guest vessel features 95 staterooms and will operate itineraries on the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers, including ‘Rhine Getaway’, ‘Grand European Tour’, ‘Danube Waltz’, ‘Tulips & Windmills’, ‘Christmas on the Rhine’ and ‘Danube Christmas Delights’.
Leah Talactac, Viking President and Chief Executive Officer, said the delivery marked another step in the expansion of the company’s river fleet.
“As interest in river travel continues to grow, we remain focused on creating more opportunities for curious travellers to explore the world in Viking comfort,” Ms Talactac said.

The ship follows the established Viking Longship design, with three full decks, the indoor and outdoor Aquavit Terrace and an asymmetric corridor layout allowing for two-room suites.
The delivery forms part of Viking’s longer-term fleet growth plans. Based on its current orderbook, the company expects to take delivery of another 18 river ships by 2028, along with 11 additional ocean ships by 2032 and two additional expedition ships by 2031.
Viking expects its fleet to reach 114 river ships by 2028 and 28 ocean and expedition ships by 2032.
