Travel agents across Australia are being encouraged to look more closely at group travel as a revenue stream, with Trafalgar pointing to growing demand from family, friend and special interest groups.

The company says global group travel is projected to nearly double in value by 2033, while many advisors continue to focus primarily on individual bookings.

Andrew Young, TTC Tour Brands Senior Vice President of Sales Oceania, said existing client databases could provide a strong starting point for agents looking to develop group business.

“When advisors plant the seed with existing clients, whether for family reunions, sports clubs, or niche interest groups, they create loyal repeat business and high-yield commissions,” Mr Young said.

Trafalgar has also expanded support through its dedicated Groups Division, with access to real-time inventory, faster quote turnaround and group benefits beginning from nine full-paying adults.

Groups of nine to 14 can receive a 5% discount, while larger groups can access complimentary twin-share places.

Bonus commission is also available for bookings of 15 or more full-paying adults, with eligible savings combinable with most standard brochure offers.

Agents can also access customised flyers, landing pages, social media assets and sales support to help market group departures directly to clients.

“We’ve designed our groups offering so agents can move faster and convert more,” Mr Young said.

The group offering spans scheduled and small group departures across land, river and rail products, with different conditions applying to custom, exclusive and river groups.
