A self-guided walking holiday in south-east Spain is offering travellers a cooler-season option for exploring Europe on foot, with departures available through winter, spring and autumn.
On Foot Holidays’ seven-night Marina Alta itinerary runs through the Valencia region, covering around 10 to 16 kilometres each day.
The route begins in Castell de Castells and continues through Benimaurell, Parcent and Jalon before finishing in the coastal town of Denia.
Designed for independent walkers, the medium-grade itinerary follows established paths through rural landscapes, with luggage transferred between accommodation each day.
Guests stay in a mix of family-run B&Bs, inns and hotels along the route.

The package includes seven nights accommodation, daily breakfast, six picnic lunches, four dinners, luggage transfers, a taxi transfer to the starting point and route information available in print or through the operator’s app.
Departures are available from January to April and October to December, with prices starting from £1,365 (approx. $AU2,600) per person twin share.
First-time customers can also receive £50 (approx. $AU95) off per person on eligible walking holidays booked by November 30 for travel completed by December 31, 2027.
