IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed two new Holiday Inn properties in Tamworth and Rockhampton, adding a combined 190 rooms across the two regional centres.
Holiday Inn Tamworth will transform the existing 60-room Best Western Sanctuary Inn, with guestrooms, reception and restaurant areas to be refurbished by 2027. A further 30 rooms are planned by 2029, taking the property to 90 rooms.
In Queensland, Holiday Inn & Suites Rockhampton will be a new-build hotel with 100 guestrooms, including 40 one and two-bedroom suites.
The property will also feature 350-square-metres of conference and event space, a 100-seat function room and an outdoor pool.

Matt Tripolone, IHG Hotels & Resorts Managing Director Australasia & Pacific, said the projects would support regional tourism by combining new accommodation investment with the group’s distribution and loyalty network.
“Regional Australia has so much to offer, and quality accommodation plays an important role in helping these destinations realise economic potential.”
Both hotels will be operated by La Vie Hotels & Resorts, with the properties designed to serve a mix of leisure, business, events and extended-stay travellers.
