That money contributed to the $382,000 raised globally through the annual Blue Dragon Marathon Walk to help end child trafficking. The Intrepid Foundation has set a fundraising goal of $500,000 by the end of the year.
Teams from across the travel industry, including APT Travel Group, Flight Centre Travel Group, Helloworld, ATAC, CT Partners, Entourage Travel and PIP Travel, joined the walk.
Globally, more than 900 people participated across 40 cities including Manhattan, Bangkok and London, with support from local partners.
Intrepid co-founder Darrell Wade marked his eighth consecutive walk, this year in New York alongside Intrepid CEO James Thornton and Blue Dragon Founder Michael Borowski.
“This campaign is a powerful example of what happens when the travel industry comes together to create positive change,” said Biheng Zhang, General Manager of The Intrepid Foundation.
“We’re proud to collaborate with valued supporters like APT annually to contribute meaningfully towards Blue Dragon’s critical work protecting children and communities in need.”

Since 2018, Intrepid and The Intrepid Foundation have helped raise more than $1.5 million for Blue Dragon, directly improving the lives of more than 51,900 people.
The funds will directly support rescues, legal advocacy, shelter and long-term care for children and families affected by trafficking in Vietnam.
The Blue Dragon Marathon Walk is one of Intrepid’s biggest annual fundraising events, running throughout September each year.
