Q: What were the highlights of your Sri Lankan adventure on the 2025 Mega Fam?

A: Sri Lanka was nothing short of magic.

Our group took on the Ella Gap trek – not for the faint of heart – but absolutely worth every aching muscle once we reached the top and soaked in that memorable view.

We snapped the iconic Ella-to-Kandy train shot (because, of course!), then turned the carriages into our own celebration, conga-lining down the aisle with fellow travellers jumping in on the fun.

There was the morning we united with six other groups to climb Sigiriya Rock for sunrise. There were spontaneous tuk-tuk races home after one too many karaoke songs and our group anthem, Sha-la-la, which became the soundtrack of our trip right through to our tearful airport goodbyes.

The final days in Sigiriya were pure joy; sharing stories, dancing until our feet gave out and laughing so hard we fell off chairs.

In quieter moments, I found peace visiting temples that felt almost suspended in time and watching more than 300 wild elephants wander through Minneriya NP.

If I had to choose one highlight, I honestly couldn’t. The whole trip was a tapestry of moments where I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else.

Q: How did Intrepid’s style of travel impact your experience of the trip?

A: Intrepid poured so much heart into crafting the perfect itinerary and I shared it all with what I truly believe was the best group of like-minded travellers.

Travelling with Intrepid makes me feel alive in the most grounding way. It’s not just about the bucket list items, it’s the moments in between.

The shared laughs over authentic bites, the kindness of strangers who become new friends and that quiet sense of wonder at how big and beautiful the world really is.

With Intrepid, you’re not just travelling, you’re part of something bigger, a community of curious souls chasing real stories.

Q: I believe your famil guide really emphasised having a local experience. How did she bring that to life?

A: Our guide, Nima, had a beautiful way of connecting us to the real Sri Lanka.

One of my favourite moments was an unplanned stop at a roadside stall where she bought rambutan, the driver’s favourite fruit, for us to try.

We also visited Hela Bojun, a social enterprise empowering woman from rural communities.

Nima chose a mix of traditional snacks for us to share, turning a quick stop into a meaningful experience.

As the only female guide on the trip, Nima spoke proudly about her journey and Intrepid’s commitment to supporting more women in tourism.

Q: Do you have any tips for agents vying for a spot on next year’s incentive?

A: If you’re working towards next year’s incentive, there are so many ways to get there, from fundraising with one of the Intrepid Foundation’s incredible partners to collaborating with your KPM to drive sales and aiming for those top-seller spots.

My biggest tip? Let your passion for travel shine through in every consultation. When you speak from the heart, your customers feel it.

Lean into Intrepid’s values of togetherness, real and impactful, because that’s exactly what travellers are craving in today’s fast-paced world: a human experience.

Q: Do you have any trips on your radar you’d like to take next and do any of the new trips on the Intrepid incentive list take your fancy?

A: Yes! I scored my ‘Sell 15 Get 1 Free’ and I’m travelling with Intrepid in November on the ‘Philippines Palawan Island Getaway’ eight-day trip. I’m excited to island hop my way around this tropical paradise.

If I had to pick one of the many epic trips on the incentive list…. I’ve got my eyes on the Egypt Adventure for next year.

Sailing the Nile on a felucca is right up there on my bucket list. Who knows, perhaps might be my extension to next year’s Mega Fam?
