Personal travel managers Bronwen Dascombe and Dominic Bellissimo, and Julia McLean, National Business Partnership Manager, have just concluded the Travel Industry Mentor Experience (TIME) program.
Bronwen says she first heard about TIME through communications from TravelManagers’ National Partnership Office (NPO) and from other PTMs who had either already completed the program or were thinking about applying.
“It sounded like a great opportunity to step back and work on my actual business, instead of always just working in it,” Bronwen explains.
“I knew I had more potential, but I wanted an experienced perspective to help me fine-tune my direction and push me outside my comfort zone.”
Bronwen was excited to be paired with an experienced mentor whose strengths complemented the areas in which she wanted to develop in her own business.
“The program ran over six months, with regular weekly mentoring sessions that were practical, honest and tailored specifically to my business goals.
“Even though the program has ended, the support network remains and the learnings continue to be relevant in my day-to-day business.
“What surprised me was how much we focused on mindset, confidence and long-term vision. Our sessions didn’t just focus on the numbers; they were about how I show up in my business.
“I walked away with a much clearer direction and a stronger understanding of where I want to take my business and how to get there. I absolutely recommend the program to anyone who wants guidance, clarity and growth.”
Dominic says he was encouraged to apply for the program during a conversation with his Cover-more Insurance representative.
“We were chatting about the challenges I was facing in my business and she suggested that I apply for the TIME program with the support of a scholarship provided by Cover-more,” he explained.
“My application was successful and I found myself paired with an incredible mentor who supported and empowered me to become more resilient and more goal focused.”
The mentoring partnership involved regular meetings over a 12-month period, although Bellissimo notes that he has stayed in touch with his mentor outside of the program.
“I wasn’t sure what to expect at the beginning of the program, but I went into it with an open mind and would definitely recommend the experience to anyone looking to level up their business.”
