Artificial intelligence will be a key focus at this year’s Cruise360 Australasia conference, with sessions examining how the technology is changing cruise retail, client behaviour and the daily work of travel advisors.
The programme will open with a debate asking whether AI is the cruise trade’s greatest opportunity.
Industry representatives from cruise lines, agency groups and training organisations will discuss what the technology can currently offer and where its limitations remain.
Additional sessions will explore how digital searches influence travellers before they contact an advisor and why personal service remains important.
Advisors will also receive practical guidance on integrating AI tools into existing workflows while retaining human judgement.
“The conversation around AI can be overwhelming and difficult to relate to, so this year’s Cruise360 will break it down and make it more relevant,” said Joel Katz, CLIA Executive Director in Australasia.
“We’ll begin with a debate to ignite the discussion and inspire thought, but then we’ll dig down to understand more about AI’s impact on client behaviour and the tools that travel advisors can put to use in a meaningful way.”
The conference will be held at ICC Sydney on September 17 and 18. The two day programme will include an industry cocktail event and an exhibition featuring cruise lines, destinations, suppliers and industry partners. Tickets are limited to CLIA members.
