Qatar Airways is rolling out a trio of new initiatives aimed at keeping Australians engaged from the moment they start dreaming about a trip through to the time they are settled into their seat.

Across onboard dining, digital brand experiences and major event travel, the airline is sharpening its pitch to premium leisure travellers and fans, with new signature cocktails in the pointy end, a Fortnite destination inspired by Doha and official FIFA World Cup 26 travel packages designed for Aussie supporters.

New signature cocktails now pouring on departures from Australia and New Zealand

Qatar Airways has launched a new signature cocktail menu curated by Italian mixologist and bar entrepreneur Lorenzo Antinori, now available in First Class and Business Class on flights departing Australia and New Zealand travelling to or via Doha.

Antinori has built a global reputation through roles at venues including The Savoy in London and Charles H. in Seoul, and as the creator of Bar Leone in Hong Kong, named The World’s Best Bar in 2025. Qatar Airways says the collaboration is designed to elevate its premium onboard experience by pairing high end spirits with a storytelling approach to flavour.

Four cocktails form the core menu across First and Business Class:

  • The Aviator (Hennessy X.X.O or James Hennessy Cognac, Champagne and orange juice)
  • G&Tea (Bombay Sapphire Premier Cru Gin or Botanist Gin, tonic water and tea of choice)
  • Golden Delilah (Belvedere 10 Vodka or Grey Goose Vodka, Champagne and apple juice)
  • Havana Punch (Bacardi Añejo Cuatro Rum and mango juice)

Each cabin also has three exclusives. First Class adds Rising To The Sky, Tokyo 75 and a Japanese Old Fashioned, while Business Class brings in Italian Highball, Old Smoke and The Carousel. Onboard the A380 inflight lounge, all 10 cocktails are available, giving passengers a broader lounge style menu in the air.

Non drinkers are also catered for, with a mocktail list that includes Apple Sour, Mango Fizz, Orange Lime Relaxer, Virgin Mojito and Pineapple Margarita.
Qatar Airways says the signature selection will be refreshed regularly to keep the offering diverse across cabins.

Qatar brings Doha into Fortnite with QVerse Island

In a move aimed squarely at younger travellers and gamers, Qatar Airways has launched its first digital destination in Fortnite called QVerse Island.

The experience reimagines Doha inside the Fortnite universe, beginning at Hamad International Airport, where players can interact with Sama, the airline’s digital cabin crew character. From there, visitors can explore locations including The ORCHARD and take on guided challenges across Doha themed landmarks and attractions.

Hidden throughout the island are golden tickets that unlock the chance to win Qatar Airways travel rewards and flights, adding a tangible travel incentive to the in game experience.

Sama acts as the in world guide and links the Fortnite destination to Qatar Airways’ broader digital ecosystem, which includes its QVerse immersive web experience and other interactive brand activations. The airline is positioning QVerse Island as a way to engage travellers earlier in the journey planning cycle, before they even begin searching for flights.

World Cup 26 packages offer guaranteed tickets and a one stop trip for Aussie fans

For Australians planning to follow the action in North America, Qatar Airways Holidays has unveiled official FIFA World Cup 26 packages that combine guaranteed match tickets with return flights and hotel accommodation.

As the tournament’s authorised travel partner, Qatar Airways Holidays is offering three official package options designed to take the uncertainty out of ticket access and logistics, particularly as demand builds ahead of the 2026 competition across the USA, Canada and Mexico.

The packages are built for flexibility, with official tickets paired with accommodation and local transfers, and are available across every Host City and at every stage of the tournament. For Aussie supporters, the appeal is straightforward: a secure, planned pathway to attend matches without relying on ballots, resale markets or unofficial sellers.

With Australian football fans already looking ahead to a big 2026 campaign, the packages are being pitched as a practical way to lock in travel early and follow the Socceroos across multiple cities.

A full brochure detailing the available packages for fans travelling from Australia has been released by Qatar Airways Holidays.

A broader play for connected travel

Taken together, the three announcements point to a wider strategy: strengthen the premium proposition onboard, deepen brand presence in digital culture and package major events into bookable, low friction travel experiences for key markets like Australia.

Whether travellers are chasing an elevated drink list at 35,000 feet, exploring Doha virtually through Fortnite or locking in official World Cup access, Qatar Airways is leaning into experiences that start well before take off and extend beyond landing.
