Cruise Month has returned, sparking a four-week campaign by Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA).

Under the banner #LoveCruise, the month-long initiative is designed to help build excitement around the summer cruise season through a program of social media activity, digital advertising, education opportunities, promotions and new resources for travel advisors.

A key focus of the promotion will be encouraging travellers to connect with their local CLIA cruise consultant, highlighting the knowledge and expertise that specialist travel advisors bring to the cruise-planning process.

“With a busy summer season ahead, October is the perfect time to put cruising in the spotlight and demonstrate the important role travel advisors play in helping people discover their ideal cruise holiday,” said Joel Katz, CLIA Executive Director in Australasia.

“Cruise Month is designed to help CLIA members capitalise on the excitement around cruising and inspire travellers to explore the enormous range of experiences available.”

This year’s campaign will again involve four themed weeks, each putting a spotlight on a different side of cruising.

Ocean Cruising will take centre stage from October 4-10, followed by River Cruising from October 11-17, Expedition Cruising from October 18-24 and Luxury Cruising from October 25-31.

To help CLIA members mount their own activities, CLIA has provided a refreshed Cruise Month Toolkit featuring digital assets including logos, videos, banners, posters, customisable flyers and social media tiles, along with a how-to video offering ideas and tips for getting involved.

Cruise Month will also involve an expanded webinar series, with almost 40 sessions presented by CLIA cruise lines to give advisors valuable product updates, sales insights, news and details of Cruise Month promotions.
