New Japan itineraries have been added to Royal Caribbean’s 2027-2028 Asia Pacific season, giving travellers more options to visit during the country’s cherry blossom period.

Voyager of the Seas will operate the new sailings from late February through April 2028, with selected departures timed around expected peak bloom periods in different parts of Japan.

The program follows the ship’s Australian season, with homeport operations in Brisbane and Sydney between October and December 2027 before moving to Asia in January 2028.

A 10-night voyage from Hong Kong to Tokyo will visit Nagasaki and Kagoshima, include an overnight stay in Kobe and call at Osaka before reaching Tokyo.

Three roundtrip sailings from Tokyo, ranging from 11 to 12 nights, will explore Japan and South Korea.

Depending on the itinerary, ports include Kobe, Osaka, Kumamoto, Fukuoka, Nagasaki, Kagoshima, Sasebo, Mount Fuji via Shimizu and Okinawa, with selected departures also calling at Jeju and Busan.

A 16-night Pacific crossing from Tokyo to Seattle will include an overnight stay in Sapporo via Muroran before crossing the International Date Line and continuing to the United States.

The new departures form part of a broader Asia Pacific program of two- to 16-night sailings from Brisbane, Sydney, Singapore and Hong Kong, covering Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, China, Japan and South Korea.

Guests will have access to attractions including the FlowRider surf simulator, The Perfect Storm waterslides, rock climbing, ice skating, mini-golf and laser tag, alongside dedicated spaces for children and teenagers.

Dining options include Giovanni’s Table, Chops Grille, Izumi, Windjammer and Café Promenade.
