MSC Cruises has marked a major construction milestone for MSC World Atlantic, with the ship touching water for the first time in France.
The float out took place on September 26 and moves the flagship vessel into the next stage of completion, with work continuing on interiors, public spaces and final technical elements ahead of delivery in 2027.
MSC World Atlantic will become the 25th ship in the MSC Cruises fleet and the fourth LNG-powered vessel in its World Class series.
From November 2027, the ship will operate from Port Canaveral in Florida, offering alternating seven-night and 14-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries.

Sailings will include destinations across the Caribbean as well as Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, the cruise line’s private island in The Bahamas.
The ship has been designed around seven distinct onboard districts, each with its own mix of facilities, entertainment and atmosphere, combining European influences with features aimed at the North American market.
Following the float out, MSC World Atlantic will remain at the Saint-Nazaire shipyard until completion and delivery ahead of its inaugural Caribbean season.
Bookings for the new ship are now open.
