Emirates has recorded its busiest month for family travel bookings, with January confirming the airline’s strong appeal to families flying Economy Class.

According to Emirates, Economy accounted for 84 percent of all bookings in 2025, with families and groups making up 64 percent of Economy passengers. January proved a key planning period, with more than 65 percent of families booking at least two months ahead of travel, largely aligned with upcoming school holidays.

Dubai remained the most popular destination for both families and groups, followed by Bangkok, Jeddah, Malé and Mauritius for family travellers. Group travel demand was strongest for Jeddah, Medina, Istanbul and Rome.

With 2026 designated the Year of the Family in the UAE, Emirates expects family booking patterns to continue tracking closely with school holiday periods, particularly across Spring and Summer.

Emirates attributed the continued demand from families to a combination of network scale and operational consistency, particularly for long haul Economy travellers.

The airline operates an all widebody fleet and a hub based network that connects Europe, Asia, Africa, the Americas and Australasia, allowing families to travel on non stop or single connection itineraries.
